The Apartment!

I moved into my apartment just over a month ago and it has already flooded. It wasn't a way bad flood but every time you walked on the carpet water would squish through. It was so gross. Our landlord came over early in the morning like they always do and asked if we had any problems with water. I told him about the carpet and that the toilets kept running. He said that the apartment next to ours was flooded so he would have the plumber come over when he got done with the other apartment.
So the plumber came and fixed whatever was wrong. No one can say what it was we've heard a lot of stories. But needless to say 2 days later our carpet is still soaked and it smells really bad. It smells sour and stale. We have scrubbed all day long and can't get the smell out. Its driving me crazy.

  1. Sorry about your apartment! Will the landlord pay for the rental of a rug doctor?? We use Resolve on our carpets and it works wonders!

  2. -Nick- It's most likely the pad under the carpet that is holding the water and its most likely still wet. My suggestion is have the landlord send a pro. such as Dean, come out and look at the pads and the floor under the pad to see if its still wet. If so, they will have to suck up the water and install new pad.
